Woven by craftspeople in the mountains of Ecuador, our ponchos are sustainably made by hand using time-honoured techniques.

Ponchito celebrates our heritage and home. With vivid and vibrant patterns and colours, we’re bringing a bit out South American flavour to Australia.

Isn’t it strange how memories stay with us?

One of my earliest memories is my grandpa working at the local market in his floor length poncho.

I remember how soft it was. And the colours. The way it moved in the morning light as he got ready for the day.

Growing up in Colombia, I moved to Australia twelve years ago. I have a family of my own now, but I’ve always dreamed about sharing a piece of my childhood with my new home.

That’s what Ponchito is about: memory and family and culture. It’s about bringing a bit of South American flavour to the streets, parks and beaches of Australia.

That’s the short story anyway. You ready for the long version?

With love, Tat

  • Celebrating culture

Ponchito is about heritage and home. With vivid and vibrant patterns and colours, we’re bringing a bit of South America flavour to Australia. And with a couple of surprises in every order, your little ones might even learn a little Spanish along the way.

  • Traditional methods

Forget large factories and production lines — our fabrics are woven using looms and traditional methods, and all our ponchos are sewn by hand.

  • Family first

With family spread all through Colombia and Ecuador, we have plenty of support from parents, aunts and uncles to help us find the very best materials and craftspeople to create our ponchos.

  • Room to grow

Our ponchos are super flexible size wise. That means your little one will still fit into their poncho long after regular jumpers are way too tight. And a quick tip: we recommend buying a size up to help make sure you’ll have years of poncho parties to look forward to!

  • Gender neutral

All our styles are completely unisex and gender neutral, allowing kids to embrace their favourite colours and wear their poncho proudly!

  • Sustainable

Handmade in Ecuador, our ponchos are crafted with care, in small batches from local wool and materials. From our compostable packaging to carbon neutral delivery partners, we do everything we can to reduce our impact.
